Who told you that you had a disease, whether it is physical, psychological, or spiritual?

Did a “doctor” diagnosis through biological tests that you had a condition which has been seen in others in the past, therefore, they ascribed a name to it. What was your reaction?

Did you say one of the following:

 “Well, that explains my behavior.”

“Well, I guess that’s the way I am and I will just have to work around it the best I can.”

“Doctor, what can I do about it? What do you suggest?”

“I’m I going to die?”

“Will I be handicapped the rest of my life?”

“How will I explain this to my family and what will their reaction be?”

“OMG I’m doomed.”

“Why did this happen to me?”

“Let me call the church healing prayer group.”

“Father, in Proverbs 26:2, Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, So a curse without cause shall not alight.” “Is there something in my life You want to reveal and remove?”

“Father, in James 5:14,15, Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” “I believe Your Word.”

Biological issues are a lot easier to deal with than psychological issues. We can sort of separate ourselves from the biological body but we have a harder time separating ourselves from the psychological because we identify ourselves with our mind and emotions. In other words, we are one with our mind and emotions.

How many people go for prayer for ADD, ADHD, compulsive behavior disorders, or other psychological issues? It is very easy to be “labeled” with a psychological issue and it is very easy for that to become a person’s identity or excused behavior. God can heal all diseases. There is no class of disease that God cannot heal or cure. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, (1 John 3:8) Not only to destroy but to give life and that more abundantly (John 10:10)

There are three sources of disease; accidents, genetics, or sin. Many times these conditions, whether biological or psychological have their roots in the spirit realm. Did you know that the biological and psychological manifest what is going on in the spirit realm in your life? We are a being that has three parts; spirit, mind, and body. They all must work in harmony; that is how you are designed. Any disunity will cause a dysfunction in one of the three areas.  How many people are open to having a respected person speak into their lives in the spiritual and psychological areas? Sometimes due to a battle of the mind, will, and emotions a person waits until the manifestation is almost “out of control.” This is the spiritual battle we have as we make choices as to who we are and who we will believe. Will we believe the world, flesh, and devil or will we believe who God says we are? Who is your god? God, the Father loves you more than you will ever know. He wants more than anything for you to walk in complete freedom. Henry Wright makes a very thought provoking statement in his book, “A More Excellent Way”, “…Allowing the mindset or genius of the devil to try to manipulate and manage people and their disease to cause them to co-habit with a problem without any regard to absolute total freedom.” The Word says in John 8:36, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” Also in 3 John 2, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

In Hebrews 6:1 the doctrines (principals) of Christ are listed. The first one on the list is repentance from dead works; “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,” Dead works is a work of the flesh which can be a root behind some biological and psychological diseases.  The words “dead works” are anything that is not initiated by God for use in our life. This is why we must make the choice between walking in the spirit and walking in the flesh. The word says in Gal. 5:16, “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”  The word, “lust” means anything that your heart desires outside of the desires of God for your life. You become your own god with your own desires. “Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.” John 8:28.

As I pointed out earlier in Proverbs 26:2 a curse without a cause will not take hold in your life. A curse is the same as a dead work and a lust of the flesh. It is a reduction or lessening of a blessing. They all produce the same effect in your spirit, mind and body;  which is a manifestation of sin. Sin, if not dealt with, leads to death, whether biological, psychological, or spiritual .

So how do we keep from letting the enemy effect our spirit, mind, and body; by recognizing the work of the flesh, taking responsibility for participating with it, and then repenting for that participation.¹ This is an ongoing process called working out your own salvation and progressive sanctification. “

Isaiah 28:10 “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.” and Ephesians 2:21,22 “ in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.”

So what does this have to do with health? Everything!
